Can a damaged skin barrier be repaired? Yes it can . Infact the skin has super powers than you can imagine to repair itself, with the right routine of course…

.

What do i do to repair my damaged skin barrier?

First, you have to remove all irritants that contributed to the skin thinning, remove all actives , all astringents , retiniods, vitamin c serums, harsh cleansers , soaps etc. Switch to the most basic routine ever and treat your skin as you would treat a new born’s skin . Ditch the srubs, tanning, lightening or brightening creams, fade creams for spots etc.. stick to gentle and soothing products only.

Secondly, clean out your diet and protect your skin from the environment. Your skin might be too fragile to use a sunscreen , so protect your skin from direct sunlight instead. Avoid extreme temperatures as much as possible , extreme cold and heat can trigger dryness and redness due to the compromised skin barrier which causes transepidermal water loss.
